Marta Ceroni signs deal for her debut novel!
We are proud to announce that the Italian rights to Marta Ceroni‘s debut novel L’Anatra Sposa have just been acquired by Bompiani (Italy) – all translation rights available.
Marta Ceroni was born in Milan, Italy and for the past twenty years has been living in the United States, where she has recently become a citizen. She is the Director of Programs of the Academy for Systems Change in Vermont, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting systemic thinking and environmental sustainability. After studying biology at the University of Parma, Marta completed a PhD in Ecology and then joined the Institute for Ecological Economics at the University of Maryland. There she combined the passion for the functioning of ecosystems with the analysis of the economic forces behind ecological degradation. Later, at the University of Vermont, Marta dedicated herself to teaching and collaborating with the United Nations Development Programme working with the network of natural parks in Romania, Ukraine and Macedonia.Marta has been writing since she was ten. In 2010 she was a finalist of the Premio Calvino Award with her first novel L’Anatra Sposa, written in the USA but set in the countryside of the Emilia Romagna region in Italy.
Marta lives in New Hampshire where, outside of work and writing, she devotes herself to playing the accordion and teaching tango.
